    Tuesday at 12:26 ·
  • Chandran Keecheril It is done..and Obama called me to aknowledge..and not only me..It was very busy in Akshaya centre for Adhar biometrics. What a nonsense to oppose Adhar. Most of world contries has a national ID system with biometrics from long before. Then why only Indians should not?
    Tuesday at 14:59 · · 1
  • Jijeesh Pb havent Obama told you that they have abandined a similar biometric Id project named Real ID in the US?
    Tuesday at 15:00 ·
  • Chandran Keecheril I done and I saw the same biometric readings are taking in Qatar, for nationals and forieners, just 4 months before. And the same in Saudi just 2 year before. And same in Kuwait 5 years before. And still the same system they are following.
    Tuesday at 15:07 · · 1
  • Jijeesh Pb Any modern democracies doing the same?
USA, UK, Holland, Australia, Philippines, Canada, France and even China have abandoned it
    Tuesday at 15:10 ·
  • Chandran Keecheril Somebody frome these countries pls comment......................... But, I knows about those countries which I commented. And I am not happy that as an Indian I dont have a national ID but most of other nationals have their own national ID.

  • Chandran Keecheril No pls chech other countries..that are not like our ration card. They also have passport, licese etc..but all those are linked with national Id.
    Tuesday at 15:34 · · 1
  • Jijeesh Pb How many IDs u need? already we have 8 to 9 IDs..
    and what is the benefit?
    Tuesday at 15:35 ·
  • Jijeesh Pb that is the danger convergence of so much data always leaves scope for abuses and misuses. Both by the govt & private players. Hope u know how the census data stored by IBM Co. was utilised by Hitler for Holocaust
    Tuesday at 15:37 ·
  • Chandran Keecheril There is a opposition against national Id in India, from the starting of this programm. And I think this opposition iis created and funded not from inside the country. If we are looking the Id system in other countries world wide, I think, no ground for oppose it. Only we can ask for more secure fair and improved system...anyway let everybody pls comment on this..

  • Jijeesh Pb our government importing a project abandoned by the west without any feasibility study, cost-benefit analysis, technological study or an enabling law. without d approval of parliament. (NIAI Bill 2010 was rejected by parliamentary standing committee on finance).
also u should know that d project is being carried out by companies like L1 Identity Solutions and accenture that has many ex cIA men in staff and board. London School of Econmics on their study on UK I D Card termed the project unfeasible, technology nonviable, unreliable, untested, unproven and unsafe. ther report also said it wld increase security threats for biometric systems can be manipulated at large applications

    yes.. comments should come

  • R Gopalakrishnan Nair Why should we insist that our govt should do only that is accepted by the west? Damn the west. India needs a UID and those who oppose it should be identified very well by the govt agencies and should be put under a special scanner. They have some anti-national interest, to be put very palpably--however eminent a personality he/she may be.

  • R Gopalakrishnan Nair My Malaysian friends have vouchsafed that they cannot con anyone or any govt agency because they have UID. One cannot take loan from one bank and default repayment and then take loan from another bank. They cannot enroll any Bangladeshi as was being done by West Bengal by the leftists that enabled them to cling to power for more than 3 decades. Those who oppose UID have many nefarious and obnoxious interests that is detrimental to the interest of the nation.

  • Jijeesh Pb regarding aproching court, already PIL filed in Madras high court. another one in Banglore.
  • Jijeesh Pb R Gopalakrishnan Nair, i never insisted that v should accept only what is being accepted by the west. we should have our ownstrategies, but this cannot be an excuse for accepting all wastes abandoned by the west.companies including L1 Identity Solutions and Accenture r not allowd to do this biometric gambling in their home lands. NIST in their certificate clearly mentions that the technologies r not suitable for any specific govt application. if we are to stand tall, we should develop technologies that can overcome the challenges.
you damn the west and support an exercise done by Western Companies for western companies (&countries) with our money. Its pitiable!

  • Jijeesh Pb Now MyKad in Malasia,
u know the population is just 2crores.
enrolment and verification will beeasy and simple and in noway comparable to 121croes in India
there they use chip based IDcards not cetralised databasesfor verification. this reduces the task to just one-to-one biometric matching, which is practically possible. but one-to121crore matching as envisaged in Aadhaar is quixotic.

  • Jijeesh Pb Historically centralised data storage of this kind especially involving private players is dangerous. We now know hoe the census data stored by IBM Co was used by Hitler for Holocaust (remember Hitler was an 'elected' ruler)

  • Praveen P Parakkal India is going back to past, every state is ruled by Political Kings / Mafia. Even Lokpal bill lost its credibility when congress brought it by removing all revelent parts. Same is Aadhar. Since there is no public are interested in it , no MP's (so called our representatives) didn't raised their voice.
  • Jijeesh Pb Lokpal is different. There were serious discussions inside and outside parliament on the issue. was there any discussion abou aadhaar ?
the project ws launched without a prior-launch study, cost benefir analysis or enabling law.
can you believe even a Detailed Project report was prepared only in April 2011, two yrs after d project took-off.
Do you know that we have no data protection and privacy laws to protect your collected data?
how are they going to stop data misuse without an enabling law?

  • Jijeesh Pb regarding enrollment of foreigners
aadhaar has nothing to do with citizenship

  • Jijeesh Pb y aadhaar?
Voters ID can be revised independently. and there is established mechanism for that. I t could be done without much investment.

  • Jijeesh Pb was attending international Book fest (INBOFA) @ MG University campus. yesterday there was atalk on 'the transparent citizen" by Dr. Usha ramanthan
I talked about AADHAAR, based especially on the fallibility of biometrics.

we saw a change there. More and more people are raising voices and doubts. No2Aadhaar Campaign is gaining momentum.

there are more meningfullthings in this country to be done with this 150000crores of Rs.
